Hello,

As far as I can see Meshell will be playing live at La Cigale in Paris on Monday the 7th of June!!!

I did not see the date mentioned in the Gigography so I thought it was worth posting!

Does anyone know in what "configuration" she will be coming to europe?

Now I can't wait to see her play live !! Big Grin
(I've been waiting for this for such a long time!)

Thanks for pointing that out to me. There have been dates I was asked to remove until they were announced, etc... somehow the La Cigale date was never added back even though I did put it up on MySpace.

Don't know what the band configuration will be as June is still a ways out. It should be what it has been for a while now (Mark Kelley, Deantoni Parks, Keefus Ciancia and Chris Bruce), but Sade could always go on tour and take Deantoni with her again... you just never know.

I hope you have fun at the show Smile

Oh no, I didn't read the message very well : I'll be in Paris on monday, not in London on the 14th...

And by the way, it's been very hard for me to connect to the polylogue for many months, now : I have almost everytime an error message, I do't understand why, and I don't know why I could do it tonight...
Any Idea ?
(using IE8)

My only suggestion would be to clear your cache, and if you're using a bookmark, try just going straight through from freemyheart.com's mainpage.

Other than that, I don't know :\

just got back from Paris...

Well, it was a great concert... great band, great set (a little too short, but anyway any Meshell's concert would be to short!!)... and the best is that Mezzo (a french music TV) recorded the whole show ... so I hope we will be able to see (and record) it on TV in the couple of weeks/month...
Sebastien I don't know if you have more details about it... I contacted Mezzo but I'm not sure if I'm going to get an answer.... (I already missed the showed they broadcasted last year if I'm correct :/ )

Anyway, it was the first time I saw Meshell live and I must say it was well worth the trip!!!
Lots of songs from Bitter and the last 2 albums... and the band is so good!! I especially loved the way they played devil's halo tunes: a bit slower (at least that's how I felt it)... but even more powerful (Deantoni Parks is amazing).

Too bad they put seats in the middle of the concert hall... it felt a bit strange to seat all along the show... but I guess it was not sold out (and I don't know if they can remove the seats when needed)...

So yes, I was in la Cigale, last monday and so was Meshell ! Worship

It was for me the... 11th time I saw her live and it was one of the best even if it was all seated as you mentioned, sbb : this disappointed me as well, as I entered the hall, but at the end, I believe this didn't prevent the audience to take part o the show. I also think the reason was that the show wasn't sold out as usual since the last times I saw her in the same venue, the crowd was standing.

I found Meshell joyfull and peacefull. The group (Mark Kelley, Chris Bruce, and Deantoni Parks) was really well balanced and sounded very clear : it was a real pleasure to listen to this show and I found the band - the smallest I saw her with - really good and happy to play together.
Songs were moslty taken from devil's halo and bitter, but also from "TWHMMTMOMD" plus a cover of Gill Scott Her's "the revolution won't be televised" : great version that I thought to be "Quentin Mack" during the first bars. At the end of the song after a fantastic guitar solo by Chris Bruce, she paid tribute to Gill Scott Heron, showing much respect to the man.

A great news is that Mezzo recorded the show, as mentioned : I have no idea of when it is goind to be broadcasted, but I'll let you know as soon as I have a clue.

As a bonus, I had the chance to walked along the Street in Pigale, at the time Meshell was waiting to get into the Cigale club before the show, so that I could exchange some words with her : a great moment for me : she was very kind and loving.

So that's it ! I wish I could be in london, in the coming day, but unfortunately, I won't be abble to make it. It is hard for me to say (espcially in english) what a strong experience it is for me to see her live : there is so much soul and musicality around !

Over the next couple of days, your connection to the site should run smoother. The people I pay $250 a year to host it on neglected to tell me that they moved servers, so it was running on an outdated one -- so that was probably the cause for the intermittentcy. Anyways, it takes up to 3 days for the change to take place. Please let me know if you (or anyone else) has problems. Thanks! Smile

That worked for me, I was more referring to the raw mpg, which were about 20 times better quality. Would have made for a nice DVD if that were the case...

thanks a lot guys for this... this is just amazing!!!

A good thing before we can get our hand on the Mezzo recording (they answered me, but basicly answered nothing lol... so unfortunately we have to wait... and see!!!)

(btw Matthew I love your comment about the SLoganeer... I totally agree... Deantoni Parks is explosive!!)

... last thing: you can use realplayer to download those videos (realplayer downloader, that's provided in last realplayer releases)... very useful Wink

After reading the video online, I could locate the mpeg files (about 100 Mo each) in the temporary Internet files, and copy them to my documents... Then, I can read them with VLC.

I guess this is the fastest and easyest way to keep the videos.

Chris rocks. He killed it -- the whole band did -- last night in Seattle. There are already a couple of clips up on http://youtube.com/officialmeshell

I'm trying to upload another one at a coffee shop a few blocks from the show in Portland, but I doubt it will stay connected long enough to go through (file is nearly 300MB lol)

You'll see why I'm putting up "Free Will." Mark Kelley was a beast on this track. I spoke with Mark last night about how I wish they'd record "Green." Easily one of my favorite songs from the last 3 or 4 years...
