Early show in Philly and then an evening show in Brooklyn huh? And the Brooklyn show is 'officially' ok to record??? Wow! Sounds like a show not to miss doesn't it?

Hey Ktrazz where ya at...this one has got your name all over it!! Smile

damn...i just started a new job...already took some time off to hit Chicago...do i dare try to catch this NYC gig too??

And the NPR World Cafe gig in Philly...i know World Cafe had recorded a Spirit Music Set that was originally gonna be available on DVD but they never released it as far as i can tell...i wonder if there is any potential for this Jan 11th afternoon show to be recorded and released at some point (or even aired on NPR??)...

hmmm....

I too questioned whether it was actually both shows in two cities on the same day and never heard back... usually I take that as a "yes," but who knows.

It would be nice if someone could just line in to the soundboard at the Brooklyn show... not really sure why Meshell/management can't just do that...

Maybe kt knows the politics behind that... Wink

Unfortunately I'll be out of the country that day.... argghh...

However, a Friday noon show at World Cafe Life usually means WXPN "Free At Noon". If so, she'll be playing a free show to people who reserve their tickets through 88.5 WXPN (radio thru University of Penn). I forget if you have to be a member to get tickets.

ALSO,if it's a "Free At Noon" show, it will most likely be broadcast live on WXPN, which is also available streaming at www.xpn.org. So... enjoy it guys, I hope someone can record both sets so I can hear what I'll be missing. :->

Yeah, sorry Derek. I'm too locked down to make the trip this time. Hopefully we'll get some good recordings down the pipeline.

Doesn't look like I will be able to record the show. I will at least try to capture some video via my digital camera. Sorry!

I haven't listened to it yet. I was just about to record it from here, but I just got my computer back from service and need to re-install my recorder. Were you working on another stream or shall I?

I saw Meshell for the first time in Brookly at the Southpaw back in 06', I caught her on her birthday at the Annex in Aug 06 and for quite some time this was my favorit show. In Feb 07 she played Joe's Pub, tight little room but a good groove. Next I saw her at the Highline May 07, a birthday present to myself. Later on in Oct 07 I caught the Hiro gig and this show edged out the Annex as my favorit show. Last but not least I made it to the Music Hall of Williamsburg in Brooklyn this past friday and let me tell you what...my girl was hot, hot hot. I've read post that decribed her as really being in the groove and really feeling the music and now I've experienced it first hand, she was amazing, she really put heart into it, she was at ease and preforming like I've never seen her before. She did Evelution, Artical 3, Headline, Crying In Your Beer, Lock And Load, Top Shelf, Wilderness, Mass Transit and a few others, not in this order though, I'm pullin from memory here. Her throw back song was Faithfull from the Bitter album...I'm still wet over that one.
And Matthew, Deantoni Parks...oh yeah...you was definetly on the money about his talents. Only wished the lights weren't so low cause even though I was right at the stage I couldn't see him very well...but oh boy I certainly felt the beat.
Well I'm still on cloud 9, absolutly the best show I've seen so far, she impressed me so much the 2 and 1/2 ride back home to S. Jersey barely felt like an hour. I can't say enough about her, she's an amazing artist, a hell of a musician and a trully inspiring individual. Thank you Meshell for ALL your music.

Hey Ktrazz what's up.

I'm almost done with another version with the tracks separated and some of the 'dropouts' corrected. Just gotta clean up two or three more tracks. I'll try to up it tomorrow. I think it'll sound better than my first 'one long track' version, but if you listen to it and you think you'll be able to work-up a better sounding version by all means upload that one too man! (i'm in no way an audio tech so i will NOT be offended in ANY way if you come up with a clearer version).

and thanks Ewa for the review, i just started looking for some more detailed info on how the show was, and yours is the first i've come across so far so thanks again!

tracked MP3s...

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=MZWXGV27

took a while, but i think i fixed most of the 'dropouts' this time around. Hopefully the sound is a little better as well.

Hey Ktrazz, i'm just using some free demo software i got years ago to capture the streams, so there is probably better more advanced stuff out there that can do a better job. What software do you use to capture stuff like this?

EWA i enjoyed the montage and photos quite a bit, thanks for sharing those! Only bad thing is it made me wish i i had gone myself Wink. Unfortunately so far i haven't come across any recordings of that NY gig...still hoping someone captured it though, maybe something will surface eventually. Thanks again for sharing those clips though!

FER-O-CIOUS!

They are just BRINGING it SO HARD!!

wow...something about NY must turn up the juice in folks...looks like i missed out on another NY classic set....

wholy crap...she and the crew are on FIRE. i mean really...Deantoni is a beast ...the subtle softness & suckerpunching power of 'Green'...the creative changes they are making to some songs...the energy so far of this show is something else! like i said i'm listening now and haven't even gotten through the whole thing yet, but it's so damn good i HAD to get outta bed and come say somethin to someone about this set and since my wifes already crashed out the web will have to do Smile.

and by the way, let me get on record as officially saying this...THESE NEW SONGS KICK SO MUCH ASS!!

damn...Meshell m'girl... you are THE shEEt!...thank you for sharing so freely, fearlessly, floatingly AND ferociously...keep bringing it like only ya can!

wow....

and THANK YOU Alexei & M for sharing this with us! Again, i never get over feeling how lucky we are to get to hear this stuff...so know that it is greatly appreciated!!

I'm a Mac guy and I've been using Ambrosia's Wiretap for years. There may be something better, but if it ain't broke... No idea what ranks on the PC side.

heheh...ok, cool, that's what i use as well, the free wiretap demo that i got years back. (I'm a mac guy too)

hey have you tried their Snapz software yet? I was thinking about giving that a shot and seeing how it works. Anywayz we're gettin close to getting into 'tech talk' and we probably should go to another forum for that, this is the 'Concerts' section after all Smile. But Ktrazz we'll definitely have to talk man!

later folks!

Not much use for Snapz. I suppose it would have been handy a couple of years ago when I had to rig up a VCR to record that Spirit Music Sextet at Montreux stream (trying it stay a little on-topic Big Grin) . I'm just enjoying the built-in editor on Wiretap Studio. Smile
