Hello everyone, I am glad to finally be able to give the 411 about the great show on friday. The show was set for 7:00, but we all know that's not going to happen. Anyway I can't remember the artist name before Meshell, but she was good, I have to give her credit.
She came on at 9:15 and gave 100 percent, and after 45 minutes was given a great applause after her set. Then came Meshell at 10:15. She opened very well welcomed to the stage, You could see her happiness in her body language and the tightness of the band. Many songs from TWHMMTMOMD, Bitter and Comfort woman.
Then came the great news and the good news from Meshell herself. First the great news; Meshell says she's happy to announce that she's having a child with someone. Then secondly that she was happy to announce the date for a new cd, to be released on October 6, of this year. She played some that we have already known about. But I really loved the way she changed the song "White Girl" with some much loved dub changes. All and all it was a win win for us all.Great show, Meshell.

Well Derek and Lisa, now you know what the "t minus 134" reference means. Funny how I'm not supposed to mention that to anyone (!!!!!!!!) and then 3 weeks later she's announcing it to the world -- which is essentially what happens in today's Twitterverse. I wonder how many times she's accidentally dropped information earlier than she was supposed to Wink

Hey Matthew, she could not help it, she seems almost like a different person, like the stars have finally aligned in her favor.I mean things are going her way, she seems happy with all the things around her. She has matured and noticed some of the changes in D.C., she was glad to be back where she once said that she lost the love for the city, but now was welcomed back with open arms. We missed our sister. And she told us she was proud and would be back.

Well, not to be superstitious or negative, but until things are officially announced I'm not going to get too excited quite yet. More than one person has said to me in the past that there have been so many delays with her albums that until things are set in stone...

That said, it's impossible not to get excited about new music. I am also looking forward to Little Dragon's sophomore release in August. Sade as well. What a great year for new music.

P.S. The new Maxwell is impressive. (Just one throw away track imo.) I can't wait until the 3rd album of that trilogy. Musze described it to Garth as baby making music...

Yeah, I'm seriously considering driving down to Chicago to catch the July 15 show. I quiver with anticipation.

And congrats and well wishes to Meshell and her family.
