Hi!

FYI, theres a concert recording with Meshell on www.dimeadozen.org for download:
Live in Rome, Auditorium "Parco Della Musica",
May 13th 2006. It is recorded from Italian FM radio and sounds great.

The band consists of:

Me'shell - bass, vocals
Adam Deitch - drums
Mark Kelley - bass
Daniel Jones - keys
Mike Severson - guitar
Gilmar Gomes - percussion

Seems to be mostly new material, dont have a setlist so its hard for me to tell..

Enjoy

Hi!

I doubt it will work since the torrents are somehow personalized upon download. Also, you need to be logged in to download. The files are in flac format and about 400 meg. I could put them on a web server for download or even make them into mp3s. Would that be ok?

can't wait till ya'll hear this...I've heard it and its fantastic...

In my opinion the NEW stuff is KILLER...really exciting stuff...the guitarist kicks ASS...

some of the tunes were mentioned before on FMH in the reviews of the recent US gigs...

there are a few tunes that the titles are just guessed at but thats all we got for now (Maybe KT or someone might have some more insights into the actual titles) ...so here goes the guesses at the titles of the tunes in this set...

Waiting For You (?): NEW
Point Of No Return (?): NEW
Come Smoke My Herb
Love Song #1
Headline : NEW
Evolution : NEW
Guide Me (?): NEW
Instrumental (?) NEW

Hi!

Matthew, is there any chance of you adding these concert tracks to the WEFUNK page? I worry a bit since I've been transferring 7 GB of the same file in 4 days and my ISP may be asking questions soon... 7 GB is half of my monthly upload allocation. A LOT of people have downloaded these tracks Smile Or maybe someone else could host the file for a while?

my bandwidth limit is only 2gb per month, and all of that is used up by people refreshing the site for information that *rarely* comes... or if it comes, is put on hold indefinitely waiting to be confirmed.

half of the $500 i spend on this site (out of my own pocket - and those that support this site financially like derek) goes into this message board. i refuse to put up adverts, etc...

anyways, the short answer to your question is no... and i'm sorry.

well ya just beat me to it west (i was going to upload it there today as well) ...

thanks again for taking the time to share this with everyone.
(While i had the Flac/Aiff version i never converted mine to mp3)

By the way i appologize if you got more folks than you expected downloading the file...some of that was probably my fault since once you posted them here i let true music fans on other sites know that this great show was out there and needed to be heard.

(again truly sorry if me doing that caused you any extra trouble man, next time i'll definitely ask first)

thanks again.

what a great great show this is. Trust me, I am WEARING this thing OUT...These new songs are really something else!

beautiful songs! Wow.

I'm really, REALLY glad to hear that she's using percussion like this. I think I remeber this cat playing with her in NYC during the second phase of the Comfort Woman tour (BBKings, maybe?). Sounds like the same guy. He opened the show playing the pandeiro (Brazilian tamborine) like how this opens. I think I remeber Me'Shell saying something like he was her manager or soemthing like that.

Good shite all around. Can't wait for the new studio to drop.

Hi!

Well, thank YOU all, the files were out there, it was just a matter of organizing the material and put it on-line. No problem at all.

deshigrrrl, you're right in that the guitar player is very good. A quick google on his name comes up with a photo of a Mike Severson apparently playing with Ashanti. Could this be him? He does not sound like a jazz player but rather like R&B sort off. Sounds great but which player wouldn't shine playing on top of Meshells magic tunes? Wink

Take care

hey west,

whoever he is, he fucking rocks my world and i hope he's around long enough for me to see another live show. the guitar at the end of come smoke my herb is phenomenal. even on the regular version as well as other live versions i've heard or experienced at her shows, the guitar + bass combo at the end of come smoke my herb blows my fucking mind. but this guy... he took it to another level. for real. i think i've listened to just that part like 52 times in the past day and a half. my ears are pleased, my brain is pleased... my senses are sure to explode... Smile

i have to say though... i've seen meshell in the u.s. and in europe, and while i can't say i blame her due to the dynamics of the crowd, etc.. i'm noticing more and more that she plays a totally different show in europe compared the u.s. there's just a whole different energy that the band seems to vibe off of when playing abroad... i dunno... maybe i'm just imagining things...

cheers!
deshi
