This is phenomenal!

Thank you for the link.

Anyone have the capabilities to transfer this to MP3?

hit me at elrey_mateo@juno.com if you know how to do this.

I believe the setlist is the following:

1. Untitled 2
2. Dr. Strange
3. Luqman
4. Heavy spirits
5. Al falaq 113
6. ?

Sooner or later all details about the show should be available at the Montreux Jazz Fest. database here:

http://www.montreuxsounds.com/

However, the 2004 concerts are not in the database yet...

Like Matthew said, you'll have to have RealPlayer to play the file. However, I was able to get the audio file to play on my Mac (haven't tried the video yet to be honest).

If it helps, when I downloaded the .RM file, my system did not automatically make the association to RealPlayer. My Mac tried to open it in GraphicConverter, which of course is an image editor, not a media player. However, the file played just fine once I dragged the .RM file on top of the RealPlayer application. Hope this helps.

wow, wow, wow.........!!!!!!!!!!!!!

amazing music from SMS. i'm so proud of
meshell.. i remember back after she did bitter she said she'd do an instrumental album, and damn.. that's exactly what she did. i don't give a shit what all those richmond and other concert whiners (um.. i mean goers) felt when they didn't get their usual meshell fix.. why go for the usual when you can have something new? i didn't want to comment about it at first since i hadn't heard the SMS stuff yet, but now that i have, i can't BELIEVE the nerve of these people! how can you sit there and complain about something so genius?

ok, ok, it's all relative. but still!

i listened to the montreux set twice in a row.. it's amazing how much fun it makes doing dishes.. heheh..

anyway, it was amazing. i can't wait to see them play live.

thanks michel..

be the change you wish to see in the world.. ~gandhi

For those of you on a mac who are able to load it, you can record the audio stream to an audio file with this free application : "WIRETAP" : http://www.ambrosiasw.com/utilities/freebies/

Michel,
THANKS again for the links to these, i haven't tried the video yet but i am just grooving my ass off to the audio. Man this is great stuff.

and yeah i hope they post the name of the last track(s) they played too (i was thinking that there were actually 2 tracks played after Al Falaq 113...

I wonder, do you think they will ever put up video and/or audio of shows from years gone by? I KNOW they filmed & recorded many of those old shows... including Meshells shows because i've seen little clips of her Montreux appearances from as far back as 1994 on various music programs...

i wonder if theres any chance they might make those available as streams too?

Man i'd really love to see her 2000 Montreux apperance...that would be historical.

anyway thanks again for posting the links here at this site...another treat for us music junkies!

was listening to this Montreux set again today...this stuff is great...the grooves just get you INTO them, they make ya move...get ya going...

at work I'm all at my desk with Spirit Music in the headphones ...my eyes closed and grinnin' head bobbin'... one arm stretched out pressing fake notes while the other hand is pluckin the hell outta the fake strings on my imaginary air bass...

open my eyes to see boss standin there...

so, uh...anybody hiring?

just kidding, my boss is cool...she knows and accepts that i'm a music junkie.

shit was funny though....

Spirit Music kicks ass...

i found the set list was up loaded.
http://www.montreuxsounds.com/database/detail2004.php?fiche=2743

1. Untitled Bbémol Jam(00:18:05)
2. Dr Strange(00:15:29)
3. Lugman(00:14:14)
4. Heavy Spirits(00:09:15)
5. Al-Falaq 113(00:19:30)

"Lugman"? it is correctly "Luqman", isn't it?

matthew,
my name was not related Kurosawa the director.
just same name. "akira" is very ordinary name.
do you have abyssinian? please upload its pics someday.

They are adorable!. I don't have an abby, but I want one. I have a tuxudo cat. You know, black and white face, black body, white legs and belly... How long did it take them to get along so well together?
