Hey,
I just got back from Vienna. Beautiful city! The club Flex is an underground place, LITERALLY. Dirty, rusty, lots of funny ideas (check out the mirror replacement in the men's room!). You can download some photos here: http://bartozzi.nazwa.pl/bartozzi/MeShell_at_Flex_Vienna_19.09.2005.rar I must say it wasn't what I expected. First they started over two hours late - it said 23:00 everywhere, 24:00 in the club (?), they entered the stage at about 1:30, right after a warmup by the two lead vocalists - Javi Rockwell and Farenheit (Jamaican pop to my ears, no too sophisticated, although the girl has a fantastic voice). I had the impression that Me'shell wasn't too happy with this gig - she had a multi-effect for her bass that was troubling her mos of the time - she was tweaking the knobs between all the songs, trying to make it sound the way she wanted it to. I was about 3 meters away from her, I wouldn't say there was anything wrong with her sound Nonetheless: I think she's in great shape. Really into the music, the way i hoped she would be. I wish i could have 2% of her feel as a musician... B. |
