The band was in top form but the RNC had the NYPD clamping down on the volume far too much. The stage volume was louder than the PA..so we could hardly hear the wailing horns. Blake and Oliver looked like they were jamming their asses off.
It was still a killer experience...NYC, central park, the spirit music sextet...ah OCTET on a beautiful summer night.
Mos Def was cool too.
Meshell offered everyone to hang out at the after show as a little party for her b-day and such.
The crowds at meshel shows are always so cool and beautiful. wish we could meet up with yall more often.

I was there!! It was a great show, couldn't be anything else. That was the third time this year I've been fortunate enough to catch Me'Shell and The Spirit Music Sextet. I am a devoted fan.
And you're right, it was a beautiful summer's night with a georgious full moon. There were a few very large bugs flying around thoug that I prayed would not land my way. The prayer was indeed granted otherwise you WOULD have seen me running! I did get up to hand Me'Shell the orchids that I brought her for her birthday. Did you see me?
My friend and I stopped by Luahns after dinner and were able to speak to Me'Shell there. She is the YUMMIEST! I have never passed up the opportunity to thank her and let her know how moved I am by her music and she has always recieved me with warmth and grace and appreciation. She is just... So Beautiful.
