Hello my friends from earth. my experience from the Meshell show. First up was a great group by the name Kokayi, played r+b,ska, rock and hip hop, great sounds, very diverse, I hope they stay true to their sound.

Now, our girl. She was very confident, so on point. The Band so tight(Keefus Ciancia sets the atmosphere,Chris Bruce handles the rhythm,Deantoni Parks kicks those drums and Mark Kelley holds down the bottom, Meshell jumps on bass about 7 times-no more than 4 minutes each time)so right.

She jumps from 5 of her albums, but it was so satisfying.

Song list:
1st Slaughter
2nd Die Young
3rd Dead Nigga Blvd
4th Fool of Me
5th Dirty Mind
6th article 3
7th Faithful
8th White Girl
9th Blood on the Curb
10th Solomon
11th The Sloganeer
12th Outside your Door
13th Mass Transit
encore
14th Love you Down

The new songs were performed just like the album, but other songs were given new life.
Like Dead Nigga Blvd was given a Ska backdrop,Fool of Me was the all around crowd pleaser (sort of like Purple Rain for Prince),speaking of Prince, she added some Meshell Funk to the end of her version of Dirty Mind. Outside your Door gets a acoustic feel as Meshell and Chris play the song as a duo.

So thank you Meshell for a visit to your planet.

Yes, great show! The energy of the crowd was great, and the club was very diligent in making sure no flash photography would be permitted. She said thank you to to the crowd many times.
The crowd almost drowned her out singing along to "Fool of Me" and "Outside Your Door."

A few corrections to the set list though, such as the order of songs, but most notably Lola being the opener, and she played Prince's "When You Were Mine" instead of "Dirty Mind"

1) Lola
2) Die Young
3) The Sloganeer
4) When You Were Mine (Prince)
5) Fool Of Me
6) Solomon
7) Dead Nigga Blvd
8) Article 3
9) Faithful
10) White Girl
11) Blood On The Curb
12) Outside Your Door
13) Mass Transit
encore
14) Love You Down
