i remember that quentin was some extra tune to the cookie cd that you could get from a website.
i am a mac user and could never download these extra tunes. where might i find them. is there studio version of quentin,?? any help would be appreciated?? |

there is audio of quentin live here: http://www.maverick.com/meshell/cookie/
i do not think a studio version of that tune exists; there is a possibility that she recorded it during the comfort woman sessions and then cut it from the album, but i don't know for sure because that was during her velour management experiment. peace kt |

Oh by the way, speaking of these CW bonus, I missed the second set of bonus tracks (House of Blues, Anaheim - Oct 11 2003) : according to what I found out, there was 3 of them : come smoke my herb / good intention / fellowship.
They said at the time that they would put it again on line, but I'm still waiting... Or did I missed it again ? So, if anybody would be kind enough to share them with me, it would be really appreciated. (I might have some quentin mack stuff with special guests |

Thank you Derek! If anyone's interested, I would be happy to share my meager Meshell bootleg collections...I have mp3 tracks of the KCRW interviews/performances available in streaming format from the FMH links section, as well as recordings of 3 SMJ shows-- 6/2005 from Philly, 4/2004 @ the Blue Note, 7/2004 from Paris.

Yes, thank you so much, Derek, you're really a cool guy !!!
So here is my contribution to this Quentin Mack collection (Hurry up, it won't stay there for too long...). I guess u don't have it yet, have u ? It was on 18th february 2005 in Creteil (France) : the SMJ (blake & lake on sax) had special guests that night : "Fuse" on guitar (yes, the real david Fiuczinsky !!) and Steve Coleman on sax (there was also Dean Bowman and Fima Ephron, from the screaming headless torsos, on backing vocals and add bass) |

woah...thanks Sebastien ...no i DIDN'T have that Quentin from france, so this is my first time hearing this...thanks for sharing bro! (cool pix too)
I'll admit though...I'm envious ... cuz I would LOVE to hear that WHOLE gig when Fiucz sat in with them! Was it as killer as i imagined it would be? Hey hey ToniB how are you doin? (VA in the house!) Glad i could hook you up with at least little tidbit considering the gems you've previously shared i STILL owe ya! so i'm gonna try to keep this going until i get in trouble its a few tunes but it actually should be played as one track but when i imported it it got captured as two...so you should play em in order back to back with no spaace between em because they flow right into each other... Intro and part 1: http://s42.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=04BBXAI3H8T7A2Q9RALDLTXUTA part 2: http://s48.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=1OI1YP8VKP0723BYYPPAG44LJ7 i'll put up 3 & 4 and maybe 5 later today... |

dug up two more early performances of Quentin...not sure of the show details, but i think they're both from NY Club gigs...
http://s58.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=0MVBG1W101KFX0GGD4BRFMY4TH http://s38.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=0B9UIHAHYSKJQ17R2OSMRH3UM0 (BTW these are currently in an mp4 format which means they MAY only work on a Macs & Ipods. However i THINK that if you change the .mp4 to .mp3 they might be able to play on PCs too. If not though you'll have to try to convert them another way. Theres a bunch of free softeare out there to do that) more comin later on... |

I left a note here last March when I suffered a hard drive crash and lost all of my "Comfort Woman" bonus MP3s. Is there a way that someone here could post all of them up again, I'm sure I'm not the only one interested... Thanks :-)

Thanks again Derek, for all this good stuff !
The bad news, el rey, is that Quentin Mack is the only track I transfered on my PC. I didn't have much time to do it, and I'm afraid that I still don't have... But be sure that if I somedays managed to take this time, I would let you now... The good news for you Mazda, is that it seems that the comfort woman free bonus are still available (I just don't know the exact names of the Anaheim session files, but I guess you don't need them any more...). So here are the other files still present on the official meshell.com site : The San Francisco bonus tracks body god fear money quentin mack the chicago bonus : ecclesiastes fool of me the way The Los Angeles bonus intro love song n°1 outside your door and the New York bonus are still directly downloadable when you put your CD in your computer and click on the "bonus" star !) Just remember that these are bonus tracks of the excellent Comfort Woman CD, so all of you, don't forget to buy the album (but I guess this is needless to say !) |
