quentin @ bb kings place is so damm intense.

cato on guitar has got me thinking he is no stranger to holdsworth ..in fact, when the band enters the gtr solo, the whole thng feels like bruford 1976...

the craziness that is chris dave's work/art really fuses this band together here..

this is a great band playing very well.

jonjon webb is bad, where did he come from or go?? anyone know who else he plays with.

thanks so much for helping me experience these...you can be sure they are being put to good use to my soul. namaste

i actually just found a home studio version of this tune, in other words, something she cut by herself. quite funky, but, unfortunately, i can't post it without her permission. i just wanted to accurately answer the original question for the record.
peace

Yeah, man.... that's dirty. You say that so nonchalantly like, "I was cleaning out my sock drawer and..." or "I was using this disc as a coaster and...". We should all be so lucky. ROFL

... and on THIS episode of "Behind the Music" we focus on "Quentin Mack" ...

hey ya'll found this little snippet in an old DC article on the GoGo group Rare Essence (Meshell used to play with some of them before her solo career kicked in)...

here's a clip....

"Rare Essence, affectionately known by their fans as "THE WICKEDEST BAND ALIVE", grew from a relationship between four childhood friends: Quinten "Footz" Davidson, Andre "Whiteboy" Johnson, Michael "Funky Ned" Neal and John Jones. After school, the four young musicians would get together in each other's basements and play top forty hits from such influential bands like Parliament/Funkadelic, Cameo, and Confunkshun. Eventually the band adapted more players and conformed to the go-go sound that started in 1976. It was at that time that the band called on the assistance of Quinten's mother, Annie Mack, who became the band's first manager."

here's a link to the entire article if you want more info...
