I've gotta agree with you, Matthew! Dang...Those four selections from the B.B. King show in NYC from October really sound like the best of the lot, to me (so far...) Clap ! And, I've been keepin' up with all of the extra, "bonus content", in terms of MP3 offerings of Meshell's music - that which has been offered on this site and/or via her latest CD, Comfort Woman, since, like, sometime this past spring/summer. I've downloaded/listened to a LOT, since I've been here in this forum.

Anyway, I finally downloaded all of the four current MP3's to my PC, over this long, holiday weekend. And, after listening to all of them, I must say that, at this point, and in my opinion, these live selections are, like, the cream of the crop, as Matthew said.

As per my experience in seeing live shows, myself, or hearing what OTHERS have heard, in terms of the same songs/same artists (simultaneously), I already know that the artists whose music I love, like that from Meshell, can be interpreted, in concert, in many, satisfying and creative ways. This is (yet) one reason why hearing/seeing a music artist, in person (with my own eyes and ears...) can be SUCH a treat! However, when one can also get a "taste" of the same kinda experience, courtesy of modern computer technology and the existence of MP3's, well, then...I feel as if I have been blessed, in such a manner Smile. All of the MP3's that I've downloaded because of or via this site have been high-quality, and very worthwhile.

But... THIS set of music files, within the (current) bonus content of Meshell's latest CD, truly represents the "best of the best...", in terms of what I've heard, thus far Smile... As I listened to all four selections, I heard a lot of fresh, different arrangements, some new "takes" on some very familiar songs.

In the end, I must say, "Bravo!" to Meshell and the band. But, also, and once again, I gotta show some love for Julie!!! Her hard work/involvement was key to makin' all of the sheer BEAUTY happen!

Such are my comments, for now...

Debra
