Actually two. Think fast for the first one: When planning to introduce someone to the music of Meshell, what's the very first song that comes to mind?

Now actually think about it. What do you think is the best (not favorite) song to start with?

So as no to bias you, don't read mine until you've thought of your first one.

I was just curious what you guys thought. "Good Intentions" was the first song that popped into my head. Don't know why. I haven't listened to that song in a while and, although I absolutely love it, it's never been one of my "Damn I gotta hear that again" songs. I'll think about the second question and let you know. Big Grin

okay, so i ignored the rules and scrolled down right away. i'm not sure what my first choice would be, but i will say that "good intentions" is one of my all-time meshell favorites. i could/can hear it over and over and over and never grow tired of it.

heheh...that is a great fun question Ktrazz...

i didn't read your choice or Grooves reply yet though i wanted to....

this may take me a while to be honest...i've made several 'sampler Meshell cds' to get folks in the know...but they usually have a wide range of Meshells songs to show her various styles...but JUST one song?...that's going to be a tough call although one does kinda jump to mind right away because no matter who i'm making a cd for i'm always sure to put it on there...

but still...gonna have to think about this a minute before i answer..

"Love Song #1" is the first that comes to mind.

When I actually hip people to her music, it really depends on who is hearing it... I usually pick a tune that is within their personal comfort zone but will still blow their minds. (If it's a drummer, I often play "Article 3"..if its a jazz cat, I play them "Infidel")

I guess more often than not, though, I go for something from Comfort Woman or Peace Beyond Passion, as they seem to be the lowest common denominator for peoples tastes. Maybe it's also because they were the two records that first grabbed my attention... so after than
Love Song #1", I'd say "The Way".

My cohort here says "Body". I think that's a sign I should turn off the computer and turn on some music.
