This may be old news to some, but i just picked up the DualDisc version of Miles Davis classic "Kind Of Blue"...

these sony DualDiscs are two sided...one side is usually the 'regular' release and play on most any cd player...when you flip it over to the OTHER side you get DVD/Audio bonus material which can be pretty cool...this 'Kind of Blue' dual disc contains two more higher quality mixes of the album (a high quality PCM mix and a 5.1 Surround Sound mix for those who have systems that support that more '3D' type of sound) and it also contains an hour long documentary on the creation and impact of the Kind Of Blue record. Our girl Meshell is one of the guest artists who speak about their views on the record...its only small snippetts from her and the rest of the artists but i was pleasantly suprised to see her regardless....

Personally I think these DualDiscs are GREAT ideas especially if they keep the price down comparable to 'regular' cds...i got mine locally for 13.99...but amazon has them too...

i remember someone else already posted this idea before, but this DualDisc got me thinking about it again....wouldnt it be REALLY sweet if Meshell was able to release the US version of Dance Of The Infidel (and/or perhaps her next record) in a format like this...with a studio version on one side...and maybe 5.1 mix and a LIVE performance on the other??
