ok...you KNOW this is gonna kill me KNOWING that the Meshell episode will be airing on HDNet...but since i'm not in a position quite yet to purchase an HD TV / Box / subscription...i will be missing it...
according to one of links this is a weekly series with each episode devoted to each artist. One of the links listed each episode in the order of their planned air dates... according to my calculations Meshells episode will be episode #112... and since episode #107 aires June 4th ...that means Meshells Episode will probably premiere around July 9th. so now the hunt is on...to find someone i know who is actually already 'HD compliant' who is willing to record it for me... its not looking good though, none of my immediate crew has made the HD plunge yet... so if that doesn't pan out, my other hope is that it sounds like at least some of these episodes will be available on DVD at some point ...maybe, just maybe if we're really LUCKY... cross your fingers folks... hmmmm indeed... as always, thanks for the heads-up m! the hunt is on... |

heheh...yeah i dug that too...
actually i had recorded that on VHS already years back but lost the tape (i have a bad habit of not writing the title of what i recorded on my tapes). Turns out i had just recently found it again and was planning on converting it to DVD and shooting you a copy...but looks like you already have it now anyways... but yeah that was a cool perfomance too... |

heres a followup link to the latest 'hmmm'...
http://www.delilahfilms.net (heres the info pulled from that link ) "NOW AVAILABLE: A 2006 HIGH DEFINITION LIVE CONCERT SERIES In 1991, David Dye introduced World Cafe—a blend of music, live performances and artist interviews—which airs on the popular Philadelphia-based public radio station, WXPN, and 200 National Public Radio affiliates around the US. Years later this show and its host would inspire the creation of World Cafe Live—an intimate Philadelphia venue housing a multi-level live performance space under the same roof as WXPN’s new broadcast studios. Now film producer Stephanie Bennett of Delilah Films has joined forces with Hal Real of World Cafe Live to bring this unique musical experience to viewers at home. “On Stage at World Cafe Live” is a thirteen part concert series which has been recorded in high-definition by Mark Cuban’s HDNet, America’s fastest growing HD network. Production chief Evan Haiman has worked closely with Ms. Bennett and World Cafe Live to choose the following thirteen artists (in the order in which they will air on US television): Living Colour, Rhett Miller, David Poe, The Knack, Joshua Redman, Duncan Sheik, Shemekia Copeland, Steve Forbert, Marshall Crenshaw, Naked Eyes, Danielia Cotton, Meshell Ndegeocello and Rita Coolidge. The series features established talent as well as exciting musical newcomers recorded in 1080i HD and mixed in stereo and 5.1 surround sound. Each of the thirteen programs features artists singing their classic songs and new recordings as well as in-depth interviews given by WXPN’s Michaela Majoun. Stephanie Bennett’s credits include such classics as "The Compleat Beatles", “Hail! Hail! Rock ‘n’ Roll: The Chuck Berry Story", "Roy Orbison: Black and White Night" and "Endless Harmony: The Beach Boys Story", to name a few. “On Stage at World Cafe Live” will begin its US broadcast on April 16, 2006. It is now available for international broadcast in all media. 24 Mar 2006 by stephanie" and here's a link to the HDNet as well... http://www.hd.net/op_worldcafe.html |

I was actually at the show that they taped for this HDNet series-- it was the 6/22/05 concert at World Cafe Live, with Joshua Redman playing first. There were numerous problems w/ the sound at that show as meshell didn't get to soundcheck, so I guess I'm a little surprised that they're releasing it but very glad that you guys will get to see it (and i'll get to see it again!)

Thanks for the insights Justin...i was wondering if the World Cafe gig was going to be a recent gig (with the latest band) or perhaps a gig from a little further back that had already taken place with her Spirit Music Jamia band. Sounds like (if i'm interpreting correctly) it was a 'Spirit Music' gig right?
i'm really looking foward to this...hope it actually comes to be. Think about it, Meshell & co. CRANKED UP in your living room and jamming live in crystal clear (potentially 5.1 surround sound) audio? How great would that be ya'll? |

yeah i got in touch with the folks at Delilah Films and they said that the concerts will be available on two types of formats...HD (high definition) DVDs AND Standard DVDs. As for the HD DVDs I'm not sure which HD format it'll be... Blu Ray disks or HD DVDs but i'm guessing it might be the latter) knowing me i'll try to buy both, the Standard DVD that i can enjoy now and a copy of the whatever HD DVD version comes out so that i can enjoy it in the FUTURE (the future being AFTER the dust settles from the High Definition Disc wars...and AFTER i hit the lottery which will probably be the only way i'll be able to AFFORD a High Definition DVD Player in the first place BTW the Delilah site has a video trailer up now with clips from the concert series (Meshells clip is around the middle right after Joshua Redmans)...heres the link... http://www.delilahfilms.net/ her episode hasn't aired yet but it should be coming up soon..... |

Hey Matthew, I was just googling Meshell when I found some various artist compolation called ,"bside 2000 ". It includes a song by Meshell called "full of me", (3:30) and I think the link said it was an Italy record company that released it. I hope maybe you could find out how to purchase it as well as include it in the discography. I've seen this cover before but could'nt find any where to by online. Good luck with your search.

since the track time for "fool of me" is 3:31, i'll write it off as an spelling error on bside2000 and not bother looking into it any further... unless kt says there's a song called "full of me" out there
thank you though |
