I don't remember If I or somebody else here already mentioned that Meshell worked on Trixie Whitley's Ep from last year.
Actually, I don't have this Ep yet (she never come to France, as far as I know). But I discovered some clues on her myspace, like this photo (we can also see Mark Kelley on this other one) and I don't know exactly what meshell did on these tracks. I left a PM on Trixie's myspace about this but didn't get any answer. Anyway, I think she also opened for meshell on a few dates (see here) and that both of them played in Montreal, last summer. Finally, Craig Street, Bitter's producer, also worked with Trixie's father, Chris Whitley, in the 90s. Anyway, Trixie Whitley has a new official site : http://www.trixiewhitley.com/ where this collaboration is mentionned (see in the bio), and where you can listen to songs of the EP (I really dig "the next generation" and I think the bass player on "crawl" sounds like Meshell (but it could be Mark, as well...). If anybody knows anything about it, It would be gratefull to share ! |
