sébastien, if you happen to have a good camera and are comfortable to take quality photos without using flash, please take some of meshell and the band... that was one thing she requested after the mpls show so she could have some photos of her and the band up on myspace. (she'd like photos from live performances that include more than just her in the picture...)

(i'm always afraid to even bring a camera out of the fear that it might malfunction and take a photo using flash even though i'm not intending to.)

if anyone else in europe is reading, again... please... NO flash Smile

thanks in advance Smile

Hello Matthews !
Well, I'll do what I can, and will definitly check 3 or 4 times before shouting that the flash is off !

But the last time I took a camera at the Elysee Montmartre it was confiscated at the entrance...
Is there any way to get a kind of an "official" authorization to get inside with a camera ?

Dammit. Roll Eyes I had my camera on my back for the whole show. Thought of pulling it out to shoot some video, but decided against it. I was more concerned with just getting good audio. For the record, and everyone please take note:

Before leaving the house, I prepared my camera with two overlapping strips of gaffer's tape over the flash in addition to turning the flash off. I suppose you can use duct tape and afterwards use alcohol to remove any leftover residue. If you make it inside, maybe security might leave you be if they see no possibility for a flash. Maybe not. I even took one of the strips off and placed it over the flash of the woman behind me at the DIA, but that didn't deter her from turning her flash back on and removing the tape. Mad I swear, sometimes the application of knowledge to deter ignorance can be an excercise in futility when insensitivity and stupidity take precedence.

But I digress...

unfortunately the venue didn't even record the show via soundboard. (this directly from meshell after the show.) you could tell she thought this was a great show and wanted some of the material from it up on her myspace page to share with people that weren't able to attend... thankfully she did the radio show earlier in the day. i'm very thankful to have quality sounding material from the band she had at this time, as we may never see deantoni parks perform with her live again :\

argh... nevermind. i'd rather put up "mass transit" or something else new. her new stuff is just too amazing to put up a cover by someone too busy suing his fans to put out anything as original as her new material...

would be nice to have a soundboard version of "green." that might be my favorite song off of the tour -- and it's not even her song. just shows the kind of talent she has in the band right now. mark kelley (who wrote "green") is the shit. just watching him and deantoni play off of each other was worth the price of each flight alone.

Quite well understood. Still, I'm chopping the whole show up as I speak and I'll pass it to you nonetheless. "Green", however is so intwined with "Headline" that I'd be making a judgement call as to where to cut it. But you want soundboard anyway, so does it matter?

I'm just finishing chopping the 11/12 show. Unless someone beats me to it, I'll have another listen to that one later.

I just wish I was better skilled at tweaking. Bringing up the volume brings up the noise. Filtering out noise filters out some good stuff. Then another listen reveals some distortion. And no time to go back over it properly. Plus as an added bonus, now I can't get that catchy ass Top Shelf outta my head. Roll Eyes

Happy Turkey Day!

man, k'trazz. thank you so much for that 11/12 show. was that you who yells out after "green"?

probably my favorite part of this show is when she does her guitar solo near the beginning of "mass transit". hearing the crowd react just brings me back to when i saw her playing the guitar and looking over and realizing that chris and oren had stopped and i was witnessing my first guitar solo by meshell... *big cheesy grin*

just when you think her current band couldn't get any better... she comes with this band. and who would've thought they'd ever see meshell 4 times over one tour with NO keyboards and not miss them at all...

Nope. That was a brother right next to me who vocalized my sentiments exactly. A huge part of my night watching him enjoy himself. w00t

I'll always cherish those shows hanging with Federico, but I certainly didn't feel cheated.

K'Trazz, can I ask a huge favor? Can you combine the intro of Mass Transit (track 5) to Mass Transit (track 6) into one MP3?

Also, can you combine tracks 7 & 8 (Headline & Green) into one MP3.

I'd like to have both of those up on MySpace, rather than just what I have up currently. I like her intros, plus I believe that "Green" actually started about 2/3s of the way through "Headline," and Deantoni's drumming is just killing on "Headline."

Please be sure not to edit out the crowd reaction at the end of "Green" -- especially your brother's reaction. lol

Again, thank you so much. I'm kicking myself for not going to more of these shows. I can't get enough of the new tunes...

Some day soon, those that were yelling out "Dred Loc" at shows where there wasn't a keyboardist will scratch their heads and wonder why they were yelling out old songs instead of just digging the new stuff that they came to love just as much. Hopefully they won't make the same mistake in 10 years at a new show with a new band by yelling out "Play 'The Bottom'!" Wink

Thank you for keeping these shows alive for all of us Smile
