In deed, I found the description was interesting : that's why I thought some french words would be allowed here for once ! Smile
I hadn't too much time (nor talent) for a translation so "merci", Sattva for your help !

I 've got my ticket for the Créteil show : I can't wait !

Me'shell was yesterday night for 45 minutes on a french radio (Radio nova) for an interview, and a few second of solo bass playing in the studio ! So cool...

So I could hear for the first time one of the songs... And what a song ! It's "the chosen" featuring Cassandra Wilson. So moving !

I had no doubt about it, but things are coming real, now : this album is gona be great !

yes, 'the chosen' is like a classic love song of meshell's... but with cassandra's voice.

now i'm just dying to hear meshell sing it live... i wonder if she'll ever perform this or 'aquarium' live...

i may have to go ahead break down and pay the extra money to get the import first...

thanks for keeping us looped in ya'll...

i know it sounds like a broken record, but it will be worth the extra couple bucks in shipping costs... plus, who knows if it will get a distributor in the u.s... i'm guessing that if it was, kt would've said something by now.

i can't wait to hear what you all think Smile

incidentally, in Japan, Tower Records and HMV have started to turn over, though the date is end of Feb. not 14.

http://www.towerrecords.co.jp/sitemap/CSfSearchResults.jsp?keyword=ArtistId&entry=198726&GOODS_SORT_CD=101&SEARCH_GENRE=ALL

http://www.hmv.co.jp/search/artist.asp?artistcode=000000000005865

Amazon (amazon.co.jp) is not yet.

anyway, I'm looking forward to hearing it. Smile

i'm guessing it's an import there as well... which means it will probably cost as much as buying the release from somewhere in france and having it shipped to japan.

it would be nice to know if it's going to be released anywhere else besides france.

maybe the reason we haven't heard anything is because maybe they're working on another distribution deal... or maybe i'm just wishful thinking.

yeah...i tried but just couldn't hold out to see when it might be released stateside...i know they were working on getting that done, but with the record business as crazy as it is i figured it would probably be several more weeks but more likely months before that could realistically happen... so i went ahead and ordered mine from Amazon in france...and they should be here in a few weeks. (Cant wait!)

If they do release it stateside i will likely get a US copy too, in the event that the liner notes on the french version aren't printed in english.

Again...MUCH thanks to m & freemyheart.com for this forum...and also thanks for the folks everywhere who help keep the info coming...

honestly, if it werent for this site, how would i even know that this record was coming out? How would i have even known where to go get it?

chances are i wouldn't.

So really, thanks to you all for helping to keep this music junkie's fix goin'strong ! Smile

for all german fans: if you dont want to order the dance of the infidels from amazon.fr (available feb 14) you will be pleased by amazon.de, where the new stuff will be provided by feb 28. two damn hard weeks to wait (or two weeks more to look foreward?...)

so not only are you paying about twice as much to buy it from amazon's german website (since it's an import from france), but you have to wait an additional two weeks?

that's kind of silly Slow

either that's a typo and i'm not going to worry about it... or people are too busy to let me know about a change of the release date... and additional dates like the new lille one with david.

found a little more info on the Muziq mag (now i REALLY want a copy of it) and an upcoming French Radio show (Monday at 8:15pm according to this post pulled from okayplayer)...

Meshell Ndegeocello is on the cover of French magazine " Muziq ", it features a 10 pages special on her career! a brand new interview where she talks about the new album " Dance of the Infidel " which hits store next monday (02/14) in France. The same day, Meshell is on Radio Nova ( http://www.novaplanet.com ) @ 8:15 pm, she will spin her favorite records and some tracks of the new album and she might play some bass too ;-)

....once you get to the site you can listen in on the current radio stream broadcast over the web (although when i tried my dial-up connection 'rebuffed' and paused every 10 seconds or so on this stream which made it a little frustrationg to listen...but I'm thinking if you have a faster connection you should be able to listen without interruption)

if someone with a faster connection does happen to listen in on Mondays show, if you have an opportunity perhaps see if you are able to capture it an a re-listenable format..

enjoy!

ahh, nice...you just got DSL huh? I'm definitely jealous Smile

oh yeah if you are able to capture it that would be great indeed! (Let me know if you don't have a way to do that, i've been using something that has worked flawlessly so far)

Regardless, on Monday night at 8:15 sharp I will still at least attempt to listen to the show at my computer with my slow connection and all...even if i DO get 're-buffed' after every few sentances are spoken Wink

oh and here's more info pulled from a post i saw over at okplayer regarding the Magazine...

"Yep, 10 pages on Meshell, it's pretty amazing ! Jill Scott is also interviewed in this issue, she speaks about Andy Bey, Queen Latifah, Meshell, Cassandra Wilson, Prince and Minnie Riperton...

Usually, you can order the magazine on this web site :
http://www.jazzmagazine.com/boutique/index.php4

But the new issue is not on sale yet, so maybe it will go on sale next week or so... Here are some info on how to order the magazine from the web site:

In the Rayon section, choose Muziq and click on the Aller button.

Next click on Achat du n° de Muziq (étranger) if you live outside France. It is 5,20 euros including shipping. To place your order, click on N° du magazine Muziq (3 euros+2.20 euros de port) and then press the Ajouter au panier button. To check out, go to Contenu panier, check your quantity (Qte) and press the Ok, je commande button.

At this point, you have to fill a sheet with some informations:

First & Last Name
Address
Zip code
Town
Country
Email
Phone number
Mobile phone

You can also add a message (Précisions supplémentaires).

Finally, click on Je confirme la commande and give your payment informations.

Et voilà!"

cool...thank you Chapmanist!

So is that site a reliable/safe site? I'm always a little nervous about putting credit card info out there on sites of companies that i don't have any prior relationship with. (i ususally only do online purchases at farmiliar places like Amazon).

(or if anyone is willing, i'd even feel more comfortable sending one of you money & shipping cost and extra for effort if you purchased an extra copy and sent it to me.)

let me know what ya'll think...
