I wanted to tell you about a Meshell Ndegeocello interview on honeysoul.com. Meshell tells us who she would like to collaborate with, what inspired her to pick up her first bass and why she chose to remake "Fantasy" on the EWF tribute CD. She also tells us what she thinks of the music industry.

Hey Matthew, In the interview with Meshell and Honeysoul, do you think when Meshell was asked about what's shes working on now, that when she answered the end of the next album. She was talking about the soon to be released album or another one? (hey I know you're not getting the info fast enough, but give us your guest)

'the world has made me the man of my dreams' is complete... this much i am certain of.

meshell is always recording, so when she says she's done with her next album, it's not for sure that what she's saying is going to be her next album, because she might decide to go another route tomorrow (or today)... i think she's a lot like prince is (or was) in this sense.

the reason for the delay of 'twhmmtmomd' is because she's trying to get a deal domestically so that when it's released, folks won't have to do a "dance of the infidel" - pay the import price, rather than $12 when it comes out domestically a couple of months/year later... or at least that's my guess for why it's not just getting the 'doti' treatment...

me personally (and i know i speak for 99% of her hardcore fanbase) don't care how much the cd is. we'll pay $30-$40 now for it, rather than wait another 1,2,3,4etc months so we can save $20.

i know that everyone reading this site is frustrated/bordering on being pissed about the lack of a definite release date... and i seriously wish there was something i could do about it.

i've written and called amazon.com and asked them to remove the february 20 date from the listing there, but they still have not (even though they've assured me that they will)...

the only thing worse than a lack of information - misleading/incorrect information.

with almost 27,000 friends on myspace now, you can imagine the overwhelming amount of private messages i get asking when the album is going to be released... and my frustration at not knowing the answer.

it's not that it's not being told to me... nobody knows.

Thanks for your words, Yes you're right we would be willing to pay whatever, and I assumed when I first heard that Meshell would be releasing her albums after the Maverick contract that everything would be imports, because she was on a import label. So I prepared myself to pay more. Well maybe she might have a date for release by the time she has the show here at the 9:30 club. If she gives that info, I'll give it to you.
