Hello
This is my first post here and I am very honored to be a member of this forum. My name is Alain and I am writing from France. I've bought the new CD "The World Has Made Me The Man Of My Dreams" (European Edition : with no bonus track at all, I'm very happy thanks). I knew the 5 tracks from the 'Article3' EP and I am very pleased to hear the new ones. There is some strange things I don't understand and maybe you can help... Let's start with the 1rst question... For the first time since a long time, Meshell doesn't use her muslim name nowhere on the CD or the booklet... Is it a personal choice ? Is it a (bad) choice from the record company ? Is it... a omission ? Alain |

Alain,
As a relative newbie here, nevertheless I welcome you on the Forum! :-) You asked a terribly loaded question... (this is the reason for the silence I guess) so I'll try to keep all the religious and political aspects aside. I will just say that I believe from a marketing point of view those Islamic assumed names were confusing for most of the public, difficult to remember or spell etc...So from a purely marketing (business) angle this was, IMHO, a good decision. And from what I know about Meshell, I guess it was ultimately HER decision. ~~~ Have you enjoyed the MUSIC? Regards, Darek |
