Is this an indication that Me'Shell is FINALLY thinking about putting out a live album? I've been fiending for one since the beginning, and actually think she should put out a series (from different eras).. The live CDs I have are nice, but to hear a show that was nicely mixed and produced would be straight gold.

She needs to do this, and with the new band tightening up nicely, now is as good a time as any to start.

i'm kinda torn about this myself

i wish me'shell could profit off of her live shows more by selling different sets on CD before the show. i hear bits and pieces from old shows via this site and others, and its funny cause u can have like 3 or 4 live versions of 1 song and get a different experience from each one.

i'd love an "official" live CD, and would appreciate anything the powers that be at her label provide us fans, but honestly I dunno how satisfying it would be.

hope that made sense. Slow

can anyone list what bonus mp3s have been put out on the site? I just found out that I tuned in for the second installment. What were the first three songs? From where?

and most importantly, how can I get them?!!!!!!

so far:

hollywood
intro
love song #1
outside your door

anaheim
come smoke my herb (even more chill than the kcrw version from july... until... cato!%!#&&)
good intentions (imo best track of the bonus downloads so far)
fellowship (best live version of this song i've heard to date)

san francisco
GOD.FEAR.MONEY (welcome back cato!!#%#@)
quentin mack (amazing keys by raymond, drums by chris)
body (more amazing drums by chris, and unbelievable vox at end by sly stone sy smith)

chicago
ecclesiastes: free my heart (beautiful acoustic version, with k'alyn's vox giving you shivers)
the way (i don't know what the solo is from at the end, but if it's from "dance of the infidels"... drooool)
amazing grace/fool of me (added 11/4, i love hearing the audience as they slowly recognize what song it is)

please don't stop maverick... In Love and thanks!

hey m.. is there anyway you could put up the anaheim mp3s? i was a tad late getting to it, thinking it would be there, then they switched to the chicago show.. Frown
i'm absolutely heartbroken that i missed the anaheim version with cato going off on the end of come smoke my herb. i heard it in chicago live, but it would be awesome to have it in my collection.
please?? Big Grin

I just gotta say thanks to Julie & Maverick for the Bonus cuts. This is a GREAT idea I'm just loving it completely.

and i think the rotating tracks is a good incentive to get folks to not sleep on the record. ..to go out and get it asap or they could miss out on some gems. I've been spreading the word about this to folks at work and i know a few who've picked up the record because of it.

So thank you very much! Great concept and execution!

I've gotta say, once again, that the bonus MP3 material from "Comfort Woman" just gets better & better, in my opinion! We may not have a live album from Meshell, at this point. But, for me, the MP3 playlist of songs that I've downloaded - from this site, e.g., the live radio song set, as well as via the CD, itself - is my own "live" recording (for the time being...) Wink... It may not be (exactly) CD-quality, but, to my "music ears", it sounds pretty damn good, overall, as I've come to appreciate the quality of the MP3 recordings, thus far...

I, too, thank Julie (Maverick) as well as Matthew (here) for everything that you've done, on behalf of Meshell - bringing her music out there, to the people (and not just the fans...), in that manner, and more..

BTW, I have now downloaded and listened to all of the MP3's from the HOB Chicago show that I attended a couple of weeks ago. And, again, thanks, Julie & Maverick, for providing that material, and helping me re-live some of the memories of seeing/hearing Meshell that night Smile...

thanks.

so what's up there now is this "final installation" and then they'll rotate them another time?

I'm glad that they did it at all ... although I sevretly hoped they would continue through the Japan tour. ;-)

WHOA!

four new songs from NYC!!!

that's about the same length as the album itself ...
THANK YOU JULIE!

... although they truly are messing with us all (and especially those of us who were there) by not including the second part of Iliquoi Moon, which for me was the best part of the show! I was like, "if they put up anything form BB Kings ti should be iliquoi Moon." Aaarrgggghhh ... WHYYYYYYYY?

Okay, I'm calm now. And truly grateful. Really, I am. I just hope I can find some Soulive fan that recorded the show so I can relive that bad-ass Iliquoi Moon ending ...

hi all - any idea on when the CW bonus live mp3s will be rotated? alternatively.... any other way of getting them? I missed Hollywood and Anaheim (Comfort Woman hasn't even been released here in Portugal, had to get it from the UK)... Having seen Meshell live in 2000, it's wonderful to feel the live vibe emerging from these mp3s, such a different experience from the studio albums (love them all!) cheers S.
