Sorry it took me so long to get back to everyone. I finally found out about an hour and updated her myspace account, the discography page, and the main page. All I know is that it is an EP featuring new music from her upcoming album due out in early 2007. It will only be released in France, so basically the only way to support Meshell is to order it from France. (I've of course provided links here and there.)

I don't know anything else such as song titles, how many songs, what the name of the new album is, who is on the EP, who is on the album, etc, etc.

I will update the site as I get more information. If anyone has any they'd care to share at this time, please do Smile I'd like to provide more information so more people will be inclined to order the EP.

Thank you for your continued patience. I'm sorry I didn't know about this sooner, and that I don't have anymore information at this time.

Thanks Matthew!

By the way, the EP will also be released in Germany and Switzerland, and earlier than in France apparently (see links below).

i linked to the amazon.fr site since many of freemyheart's users already have an account with them from when they bought "dance of the infidel". also, it seems to be the cheapest place to buy it...

thanks again for bringing up this release... i apologize for not knowing anything about it a couple of days ago when you originally asked about it. the info should've already been on the site at that time, etc... *bites tongue*

thanks for the info ya'll...

just so i don't get surprized...can someone confirm that the price in US dollars will be about $8 or $9 or so (plus shipping of course)...and not $800 dollars or so?

I mean i love Meshells stuff and all but $800 bucks for an EP would be a bit outta my price range...now if it was a full length live album, THAT i would have to think about Wink

seriously though when i plug the EUR price into my converter it comes up as $800ish, but i know that isn't right...is that comma in the 7,07 EUR price supposed to translate as a period in the US conversion or something? (math, numbers & internationsal common sense obviously just 'aren't my bag baby')

as soon as i'm sure that the price won't clean me out i'm gonna order my copy... cant wait...

ordering it today, it comes out to $8.86 USD before shipping costs.

count the comma as a period Smile (or base it on amazon.fr's price of "dance of the infidel" Smile

Anticipation is building!

iTunes Switzerland released the EP, but for the people without iTunes, there is a sneak preview (30 sec. per track) available on Ex Libris.

Direct links courtesy of Ex Libris:

01 - Haditha
02 - The sloganeer
03 - Shirk
04 - Article 3
05 - Elliptical

Click the links to load streaming, or save to harddrive. I have this as a playlist on repeat right now...

Cool

Before anyone that doesn't live in Europe wastes an hour trying to sign up via iTunes in France (or any other European version of iTunes) to buy the EP that way, don't bother unless you live there.

Your credit card will not work no matter what. You will have to have a credit card on file that has a European address. I even went as far as to Google "France address" while trying to sign up for an French iTunes account LOL

Oh well. Must be patient. You'd figure that they'd want your money, but I guess not...
    Dear Meshell,

I tried to support you, but iTunes.fr didn't want my money. Maybe you do. What's your Paypal address? Don't have one, you say? You can sign up for one for free at Paypal.com. I'll then sign up for an account on yousendit.com for free. I'll then send you payment for the EP via Paypal. Then you can send me the EP to my personal account at yousendit. Then you can go buy a new pair of sandals or some incense. Maybe I'll even send you a little more than what iTunes or Amazon.fr is charging for the EP. Sound good?

Looking forward to hearing back from you,
    Your non-European fanbase

P.S. I'll throw in twice as much for the 2 or 3 songs that aired on "Noah's Arc." Thanks in advance for your reply!

Dear Meshell !
I think everybody here would agree with me to tell you that you really don't have to bother with any kind of paypall adress ! We all know that Matthews deserves this exciting EP (and the Noah's ARc tunes, too... Come on !)for all the work he's done and the time he's spent so that all of us could be aware about what's up with you. This has been already discussed here, and many times, but I thought I could repeat this once more...

And don't be sad about new sandals... I would be happy and honoured to bring you to a nice shoe store the next time you come to Paris (which is very soon) ! Smile

Yours !
A european fan willing to pay even twice for the next EPs, LPs, new concerts in Paris or whatever you're gona give us.

no no Big Grin

i was writing (tongue-in-cheek) on behalf of her entire non-european fanbase... Smile (not on behalf of me)...

all i want personally is info that i can post on this site so her supporters can stay informed... you know. like... up to date band info... up to date album info... being told that an ep is planned (rather than finding out about it on a message board lol)

anyways, i've learned that that's a losing battle... so enough about that Slow

have a great weekend everyone...

Aside from the price listed on the site, will there be any additional taxes/tariffs that we'd have to pay on delivery? I don't think I've ever ordered something from Europe before Eek

The $21 was too much for me right now, but I'll surely catch up with this disc soon enough.

FYI, from what i could tell, my regular USA amazon account allowed me to log into amazon france just fine.

but when i got to checkout and say i was paying more for shipping than for the cd.. i bailed. anybody know if amazon france does super saver shipping?

meshell, cmon.. people want this shit, why make it so hard to get? if you arent gonna keep track of the business end, dont be suprised when people in the states download you shit because they cant buy it anywhere. not to be a hater, but have your management put up a website and get a case of cd's and sell em for a fair price. (which should be no problem since they wouldnt be shippinf from france!) or, hell, just get the tracks on itunes and i;ll get at em.

Thank you Michel for the info Smile

(Babel Fish translation)

MESHELL NDEGEOCELLO & "A DIFFERENT GIRL (EVERY NIGHT)"

URBANER ANGEL - with albums like "Plantation Lullabies" or "Cookie: The Anthropological Mixtape" set it new yardsticks within the range of the Neo Soul. With "Papillon" the highly gifted singer and Elektrobassistin Meshell Ndegeocello proved then that she is been versed also in the contemporary jazz. That it calls its new Vocals project "The Grand mission", is no coincidence: Ndegeocello believes in the fact that one can make the world with words and music a better place.

Meshell Ndegeocello, bassguitar & vocal
Oren Bloedow, guitar
Mark Kelly, bass
Charles Haynes, drums
Gilmar Gomes, percussion

New CD appears to 2006 in the autumn (universal france)

(Actually, the new album won't be coming out until next year.)
