Folks-

A few years back, I THINK I remember Meshell performed at a special tribute/benefit concert in Carnegie Hall (of Joni's music), benefiting some worthy cause- I'M SURE Meshell interpreted "Cherokee Louise" from 1988's 'Chalkmark In A Rainstorm': a personal favourite. Can anyone tell me if a copy of this performance is available under the sun??? Or even that it happened? x

it happened, and not that i'm aware of. kept hoping a dvd would be released of this, but apparently there are rights issues or something.

I would REALLY love a copy of that if someone has found one. I've been keeping an eye out for it too.

Insignificant addition-- I think "Cherokee Louise" is from 1991(?)'s Night Ride Home. There's also another killin' version on Joni's orchestral "Travelogue" album, are you familiar with that one?

You're right about the song being on "Night Ride Home": my bad! The "Travelogue" version is fantastic too. Would love to hear what Meshell did with the tune...

Thanks for confirming that for me Matthew. Looks like any such DVD release would be gauranteed AT LEAST three sales!
