Yes, "Made by Maceo" has some great jams on it. "Quick Step" is unbelievable and I'm diggin' "Hats Off to Harry" and "Off the Hook" as well. I like the groove of "Come By and See", but it's odd to me that the first song on Maceo's CD would have a solo by Candy Dulfer (and no solo by Maceo)!!??? "Made By Maceo" is definitely worth picking up, but to be honest I'm left wishing that his studio albums had more consistency. I didn't really care much for "Those Girls", "Moonlight in Vermont" or "Don't Say Goodnight." It should go without saying that Maceo's live sets are a spectacle to behold. The band he's been touring with for the last several years really throws down. Jamal Thomas, Rodney "Skeet" Curtis, Bruno Speight, Greg Boyer and Ron Tooley -- those are some serious cats! | |||
