I was introducing someone to the music of Meshell (in my usual animated way), while simultaneously extolling the values of artist independence and self-promotion. Suddenly, some program on the telly started showing concert footage of Alicia Keys joining none other than, our girl.

Not only was she playing a packed stadium, but it was CLEARLY Meshell's show. It was a very large set with stairs (kinda like the Purple Rain tour set) and I found it quite bizarre how animated she was. She was all over it dancing on the stairs and everything. She was dressed in black and she put on this wide brim black hat with white trim.

Now I don't know if it was just Alicia's voice or the odd atmosphere or what, but it was the most commercial sounding I'd ever heard her. I mentioned that it would probably gain her a lot of fans, but I was a bit conflicted.

Anyway, by the end of the dream, I had ended up on stage trying to mend a piece of the set that I had damaged. Meshell came by, immediately recognized me and gave me a hug. I woke up happy.

P.S. Yesterday, I dreamt of my wedding gone horribly wrong. I had to wake from my night terror, call my girlfriend and reiterate that I NEVER EVER want to get married. I went back to sleep and dreamt of being a runaway slave. Right before the Meshell dream, I dreamt of being chased by a crazed murderess and some pretty graphic deaths-by-clamshell-bucket. Just for perspective.
